It’s LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgendered, Intersex) Pride Month, and Sexploratorium is celebrating! We believe that every person is entitled to a healthy, sexual “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.”
According to Wikipedia, President Bill Clinton proclaimed June to be Gay and Lesbian Pride Month in the United State in 2000, we’re guessing because pride month and the ensuing parade of colors have traditionally taken place in June since the 1980s. On June 1, 2009, President Barack Obama officially seconded the motion on behalf of the US government. The “queer” community at large has extended the concept of Pride to specifically include lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered and intersex persons who are often excluded, shamed, ridiculed and harassed by mainstream society.
